Dusty Rides Again

Dusty Rides Again
The Territory ain’t been safe since the Brill Gang came to town
They robbed the bank, they burned the courthouse
and shot the Marshall down
Dusty tried to stop them, there was no one else to try
He could hear them laugh as they shot Him in the back
And left him there to die
His one true love was Laura, They were going to wed that day
But as the outlaws fled the town they carried her away
Now the Brill Boys better head out with the swiftness of the wind
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
Though the bullets didn’t kill him, they left a crippled man
And he swore by the wrath of God
he’d soon have Laura back again
With a cripples cane to lead him, Dusty bought a gun
For a job that no one else can do, but a job that must be done
Dusty was a God fearin’ man, he often talked to the Lord
He was askin’ Jesus to give him strength,
He was trembling with every word
He’d always turned the other cheek
but as he bowed his head to pray
He was asking Jesus, just this once to look the other way
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
When the Brill Gang rode back into town that dark deserted day
There was no one there but a crippled man
With a six gun and a cane
Brill let out a hearty laugh ‘cause he’d seen that face before
As he looked into Dusty’s piercing eyes
he wasn’t laughing anymore
Well the led just started flyin’ with a crashing thundering sound
You could hardly hear the thud as Dusty’s body hit the ground
As he fell 6 shots rang out like a hollow doomsday bell
Each bullet found it’s mark and sent the outlaw gang to hell
When all the dust had settled and all the blood was shed
The town no longer lived in fear ‘cause the outlaws all were dead
They had a heroe’s funeral at the little church in town
But Dusty and his Laura were never to be found
Musical turn around
One night a stranger while on the road that leads on into town\
Said he saw a lady along the way dressed in a white wedding gown
And on up the road 3 highwaymen tried to murder him he claims
But he was rescued that night by a crippled man,
with a 6 gun and a cane
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again

MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION
VERSE
HE FUMBLES THROUGH THE EMPTY BOTTLES FOR A DIRTY COFFEE CUP

At The Bottom of the Bottle
When you met me I was looking for direction in my life
I was runnin ‘round and hangin’ out at the honkytonks all night
I thought those days were over but now you’re gonna leave
And I can hear that lonely barstool callin’ out to me
chorus
At the Bottom of the Bottle There ain’t nothing but heartache
At The Bottom of the Bottle you’ll find nothing but pain
You said you don’t need me And you said your gonna leave me
At The Bottom of the Bottle is where you’ll find me again
I’ve always been so very proud to say that I’m your man
That’s why it makes it hard for me to try to understand
Why do you want to leave me after all those happy years
I’ll be back at the bar room to drink away my tears
chorus
At the Bottom of the Bottle There ain’t nothing but heartache
At The Bottom of the Bottle you’ll find nothing but pain
You said you don’t need me And you said your gonna leave me
At The Bottom of the Bottle is where you’ll find me again
solo
Bridge
Before you turn and walk away
There is one thing you must know
I just can’t live without you
Can I beg you not to go
Modulate chorus
At the Bottom of the Bottle There ain’t nothing but heartache
At The Bottom of the Bottle you’ll find nothing but pain
You said you don’t need me And you said your gonna leave me

IF IT AIN’T COUNTRY THE GIRL DON’T DANCE
She walked across that smoke filled room, I’d seen that girl before
I watched her as she walked out on that honky tonk dance floor
But then she turned and sat down as the band began to play
Someone there beside me said she’s funny that-a-way
CHORUS
If it ain’t country, the girl don’t dance
If it ain’t sweet southern style, she don’t give the band a chance
If you ain’t country boy, you won’t get a second glance
If it ain’t country, the girl don’t dance
She can Texas two step, she can clog to the Cotton Eyed Joe
She can get right down with the rockabilly sound, or when they
play one slow
Shell wrap her arms around you just like you hope She would
But when she’s on the dance floor she wants it understood
If it ain’t country, the girl don’t dance
If it ain’t sweet southern style, she don’t give the band a chance
If you ain’t country boy, you won’t get a second glance
If it ain’t country, the girl don’t dance
SOLO
Bridge
She loves her Willie Nelson, She just loves the way he sings
But even Willie doesn’t thrill her like the killer
When he tells her how to shake that thing
CHORUS A CAPELLA
If it ain’t country, the girl don’t dance
If it ain’t sweet southern style, she don’t give the band a chance
If you ain’t country boy, you won’t get a second glance
If it ain’t country, the girl don’t dance
MODULATE CHORUS WOITH MUSIC
If it ain’t country, the girl don’t dance
If it ain’t sweet southern style, she don’t give the band a chance
If you ain’t country boy, you won’t get a second glance
If it ain’t country, the girl don’t dance

LIVIN’ IN HONKY TONK HELL
VERSE
YOU SMILE AND YOU WAVE LIKE YOU KNOW ME
BUT YOU DON’T REALLY KNOW WHO I AM
IN A LITTLE BEER JOINT OUTSIDE OF DETROIT
I’M GETTING WASTED WHILE I SING IN FRONT OF A HILLBILLY BAND
THE STAGE AND THE LIGHTS ARE THE BARS THAT CONFINE ME
AND I WON’T BE SET FREE FROM MY CELL
‘TIL I’M READY TO GO TO HILLBILLY HEAVEN
‘CAUSE I’M LIVIN’ IN HONKY TONK HELL
CHORUS
WHEN I GET TO HILLBILLY HEAVEN
THEY’RE GONNA KNOW WHO I AM
‘CAUSE MANY A NIGHT HAVE I TURNED OUT THE LIGHT
AND PRAYED TO BE UP THERE WITH THEM
WHERE A MAN CAN BE JUDGED FOR THE HIGHS THAT HE’S CLIMBED
AND NOT BY THE LOWS THAT HE FELL
AND I’M READY TO GO TO HILLBILLY HEAVEN
‘CAUSE I’M LIVIN’ IN HONKY TONK HELL
MUSICAL INTERLUDE ONE CHORUS
VERSE
NOW MISTER, IF YOU’LL BUY ME A COLD ONE
I’LL SING YOU A BEER DRINKIN’ SONG
YOU CAN TRY NOT TO CRY,
BUT THERE’LL BE A TEAR IN MY EYE
WHEN I SING ABOUT A LOVE AND A LIFE THAT WENT WRONG
REDEMPTION HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE STEP BEHIND ME
AND THESE DAYS I AIN’T DOIN’ SO WELL
AND I’M READY TO GO TO HILLBILLY HEAVEN
‘CAUSE I’M LIVIN’ IN HONKY TONK HELL
BRIDGE
EVERY TIME I GET A BREAK, EVERYBODYS ONLY WAITIN’ TO SEE
HOW LONG IT’S GONNA BE TILL THE BOTTLE TAKES AHOLD AND KNOCKS THE HELL OUT
OF ME
CHORUS
WHEN I GET TO HILLBILLY HEAVEN
THEY’RE GONNA KNOW WHO I AM
‘CAUSE MANY A NIGHT HAVE I TURNED OUT THE LIGHT
AND PRAYED TO BE UP THERE WITH THEM
WHERE A MAN CAN BE JUDGED BY THE HIGHS THAT HE’S CLIMBED
AND NOT BY THE LOWS THAT HE FELL
AND I’M READY TO GO TO HILLBILLY HEAVEN
‘CAUSE I’M LIVIN’ IN HONKY TONK HELL
