lyrics
Dusty Rides Again
The Territory ain’t been safe since the Brill Gang came to town
They robbed the bank, they burned the courthouse
and shot the Marshall down
Dusty tried to stop them, there was no one else to try
He could hear them laugh as they shot Him in the back
And left him there to die
His one true love was Laura, They were going to wed that day
But as the outlaws fled the town they carried her away
Now the Brill Boys better head out with the swiftness of the wind
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
Though the bullets didn’t kill him, they left a crippled man
And he swore by the wrath of God
he’d soon have Laura back again
With a cripples cane to lead him, Dusty bought a gun
For a job that no one else can do, but a job that must be done
Dusty was a God fearin’ man, he often talked to the Lord
He was askin’ Jesus to give him strength,
He was trembling with every word
He’d always turned the other cheek
but as he bowed his head to pray
He was asking Jesus, just this once to look the other way
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
When the Brill Gang rode back into town that dark deserted day
There was no one there but a crippled man
With a six gun and a cane
Brill let out a hearty laugh ‘cause he’d seen that face before
As he looked into Dusty’s piercing eyes
he wasn’t laughing anymore
Well the led just started flyin’ with a crashing thundering sound
You could hardly hear the thud as Dusty’s body hit the ground
As he fell 6 shots rang out like a hollow doomsday bell
Each bullet found it’s mark and sent the outlaw gang to hell
When all the dust had settled and all the blood was shed
The town no longer lived in fear ‘cause the outlaws all were dead
They had a heroe’s funeral at the little church in town
But Dusty and his Laura were never to be found
Musical turn around
One night a stranger while on the road that leads on into town\
Said he saw a lady along the way dressed in a white wedding gown
And on up the road 3 highwaymen tried to murder him he claims
But he was rescued that night by a crippled man,
with a 6 gun and a cane
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
Rides again, Rides again
Look out boys ’cause Dusty rides again
